CFR investigation of product liability halts civil claims and reputation damage 

On an urgent basis, CFR was retained by a leading national restaurant chain after a customer accused the client of product liability damages totaling one million dollars.  In an effort to identify whether legitimate liability existed and mitigate client reputation damage, CFR investigators conducted a comprehensive investigation of the customer, the customer’s associates, restaurant staff and relevant witnesses, as well as laboratory analysis of the product involved in the claim.  Based on the evidence, CFR determined the customer fabricated the claim.  When the client’s lawyer was presented with the evidence the claim was withdrawn without court filings.

 

CFR investigation leads to cold case murder conviction

CFR was retained by the family of a murder victim after the case remained unsolved for several years.  After extensive interviews with potential suspects and acquaintances of the subjects and victim, CFR investigators identified the prime suspect and gathered sufficient evidence which ultimately forced a confession and prompted the suspect to turn himself in to law enforcement authorities.  The suspect was successfully convicted of third degree murder.

 

CFR investigation of insurance fraud

CFR was contracted by a leading national insurance firm to investigate the alleged theft of a customer's assets.  Interviews conducted by CFR investigators revealed inconsistencies with the customer's account of the theft.  Further investigation of documentation associated with the asset purchase revealed indications of tampering.  On behalf of the client, CFR submitted the evidence to law enforcement authorities which led to a successful prosecution.

 

CFR investigation of workplace harassment complaint 

CFR was retained by a major charitable organization to conduct an independent investigation of a manager accused of sexual harassment in the workplace.  After conducting a comprehensive series of interviews and employing advanced investigative techniques, the findings were provided to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) which ultimately recommended against pursuing charges.  When the complaint was subsequently dropped, CFR was lauded by the charitable organization’s executive director for the cost savings as compared to hiring a civil defense team.   

 

CFR investigation of stolen assets 

CFR was contacted by a private client to help recover stolen assets valued at a quarter of a million dollars.  The investigation helped facilitate a law enforcement search of a suspect's business office which recovered evidence indicating the suspect had sold the client's assets in Russia.  As a result, and at the client's request, the suspect paid monetary and non-monetary compensation equivalent in value to the stolen assets.

 

CFR investigation of labor dispute and workplace violence

CFR was retained by a corporate client to investigate an incident of workplace violence that resulted from an internal labor dispute.  CFR investigators swiftly identified the employees who perpetrated the violence and collected sufficient evidence that enabled the client to terminate the employees and seek prosecution.  As a result, the client was able to quickly return its production operations to full capacity and prevent further loss of revenue.

 

CFR locates birth mothers of adopted children

CFR has conducted three separate successful investigations to identify and locate the birth mothers of clients who were adopted as children.  In each case, CFR investigators also obtained medical history documents that provided the clients with additional evidence and insight regarding their birth and birth mothers.  In at least one case, the investigation helped facilitate a reunion between the client and the birth mother.

 

CFR identifies insurance fraud conspiracy during routine investigation

 During a routine insurance claim investigation on behalf of a major national insurance firm, CFR investigators identified a discrepancy at the residence of the claimant.  Additional investigative measures ultimately determined the claimant was part of an ongoing multi-person insurance fraud conspiracy.  Evidence obtained by CFR was provided to law enforcement authorities which halted the conspiracy and led to multiple indictments.

 

CFR support for product liability defense

In support of a corporate client, CFR collected information that identified other major contributing factors to help refute multiple legal claims against the client's product.  The evidence collected by CFR investigators was used to help bolster defense of the client’s product during court proceedings.
